Rare only set in existence Autograph of 1st Disney Mickey Mouse as Jedi Mickey X-Wing Pilot Signed By Matt Lanter (who was the voice of Anakin Skywalker From "The Clone Wars") & Minnie Mouse as Princess Leia Signed by Catherine Taber (who was the voice of Padme Amidala From "The Clone Wars") both with LE 1977 pins Autographed by the Disney Artist who created it Costa Alavezos with bonus photos and COA This pair of collector figurines is from the very first year when this popular "medium big fig" series was introduced during Star Wars Weekends 2011. These have now sold out and retired at Disney World. The entire limited edition of 1977 in collectors hands now. So why a limited edition of such a number as 1977? That was the year of the release of the original and first Star Wars film at that time titled Star Wars and now re-titled Star Wars: A New Hope. These are a rare find and a great addition to any medium big fig collection. These were both created by the same Disney sculpture, Costa Alavezos from San Francisco. We were able to get his autograph on them both. I know of no other set like this which were autographed. So this would be an extra special addition for a very lucky collector, as they probably are the only set that was autographed. A photo of Disney artist Costa Alavezos will be sent with these figs and we will send a Certificate Of Authenticity also. Each of the figurines bases open and have a Jumbo Pin inside which is also an exclusive limited edition 1977 of the figure included. |
A bit of Disney Big Fig History
Mickey Mouse was first introduced as Luke X-Wing Fighter Pilot at Star Wars Weekends 2008 event as a Big Fig Sculpture in a limited edition of only 600 created also by Disney artist Costa Alavezos. This is the same artist's medium big fig version which was released in 2011 and sold out. The very first Big Fig was Jedi Mickey Mouse with a lightsaber in his Jedi robes introduced as a limited edition of 600 at Star Wars Weekends 2006 and was created by the Disney artist Brian Blackmore. The original Big Fig series were each 600 a total of 10 of the original big fig set and ran from 2006 through 2009. In 2011 the medium big figs were first introduced each with a limited edition pin in the base and edition size of 1977. The medium big figures we at Dizdude.com first called "Medium Big Figs" back in 2011 and now the term has caught on and they are referred to that even at Disney.
